Musikalische Grenzen zu sprengen, vor allem die eigenen, das ist wohl der rote Faden der sich durch die Geschichte dieser Bielefelder Band zieht. Ob als Instrumentalcombo in den Anfangstagen oder als PSI-Rock Quintett mit Popanleihen zu „Time Fluctuations“ Zeiten – 7 DAYS AWAKE stehen für den stetigen Versuch Musik zu vereinen die unvereinbar scheint und dabei trotzdem großartige Songs zu schreiben. Als Trio auf ihrem 2010 erscheinenden neuen Album „Interference“ könnte ihnen das zum ersten Mal wirklich vollkommen geglückt sein. |

TILL THE MORNINGLIGHT lives in Berlin. He writes songs about trees, food and the big city but always ends up with songs about love. If he’s not singing, then he’s busy working as a chef in an italian restaurant and swears a lot. His first album is called „leave your home“ and is out on staatsakt records. Or listen to his first 7“single called „everyday“ in your local record store.... or just buy him a drink if you bump into him.Hirzel Hirzelnsen: „ Ich habe Till irgendwann Ende der 90er Jahre kennengelernt als er als Fanartikelverkäufer bei meiner früheren Band Samba auf Touren mitkam und schon damals war er ein stilsicherer Berater bei Geschmacksfragen in allen Lebenslagen, egal ob Mode, Musik, Essen, Frauen, Geld verschwenden oder Zeit totschlagen. Dann ist er nach Berlin umgezogen, hat ein angesagtes Berliner Lokal als Chefkoch nach vorne gebracht und nebenher mal eine CD aufgenommen, auf der er seine Idee von Slow-Food-Folk präsentiert. Der Remix, den es hier zu hören gibt, ist eher zufällig beim Experimentieren mit einer neuen Musiksoftware entstanden.“ |

Ungewollt genial! Diese Aufnahme war ursprünglich nur ein Soundcheck, d. h. sie wurde gemacht während die Band die Instrumente stimmte und Soundeffekte ausprobierte. Die entstandene Improvisation ist ein erstaunliches Beispiel für die Kommunikationsfähigkeit des menschlichen Geistes über musikalischen Ausdruck in einer Gruppe von Individuen – mit anderen Worten: primitive Rockmusik! P.H.B. wurde vor ca. 17 Jahren von Todd Hole und Ente ins Leben gerufen und weigern sich seither beharrlich, Songs zu schreiben oder gar Coverversionen zu spielen. Ihre improvisierten Sessions gleichen pschychedelischen Rockorgien im Stil der frühen Butthole Surfers. |

Boston Beigel war der Titel des ersten Albums der legendären Speedniggs im Jahr 1989. Jan Beigel war Namensgeber für den Albumtitel und spielte den Bass damals. Aktuell arbeitet er mit seiner Band Hijos de Buddha an einem neuen Studio-Album und tritt mit seinem Soloprogramm „Look its music“ live auf. Der Track I AM wurde im Jahr 2008 in Lemgo aufgenommen. Boston Beigel was the titel of the first album the legendary Speedniggs released back in 1989. Jan gave his name for the albumtitle and played the bass those days. | Trio format entre sa Pobla i Campanet (Mallorca). Fan ROCK amb ressons dels anys 80 i 90. Treballant a sa Càpsula, el seu lloc d‘assaig, generen els seus temes plens de so espontani. Durant un temps treballaren amb més d‘un guitarrista, percussió i teclats, fins i tot festejant amb l‘electrònica a l‘hora de fer les bases rítmiques. Actualment han deixat enrere aquesta etapa i fan un so més primitiu, més sedimentari i més orgànic. T.A.f.F. was formed between sa Pobla and Campanet (Mallorca) influenced from 1980‘s and 1990‘s rock. Sa Càpsula (The Capsule) is the place where they generate their themes from spontaneous sounds and improvisation. For a time they worked with more than one guitarist or with additional percussion and keyboards, even using electronica for basic rythm. But now, as a trio, they got back to a more primitive, settled and organic sound. | ||

| NEGATIVE 4 BUTTERFLIES ist ein Homerecordingrojekt von Sherf mit Caro, manchmal Olli oder anderen Gästen. Ihr Sound liegt irgendwo zwischen Blues, Psychedelic und Alternative. Das Ergebnis ist kompliziert einfach und puristisch ausgefeilt, andererseits hat das ganze reichlich Abwechslung zu bieten.Der Track BORN BAD & CRIMINAL wurde im Winter 2006/2007 in Enger aufgenommen. Musik und Text stammen von Stefan „Sherf“ Popovic. Caro arbeitet derzeit mit ihrem Bandprojekt MELANCA an der Veröffentlichung eines neuen Studioalbums. | ||

FISCHER is a one man garage R´n´R´- Band from Bielefeld, Germany, often heavy distorted guitars and even voices guided by a stompbox and a few bandloops. But it´s more than simply noise. Rhythm, groove and melodie is the groundstructure on each track. Rock pants down! | ||

| Ian Stewart: Punk, Poet and Pariah. During the early 1980‘s Ian, inspired by the Punk ethos, gathered friends together both in Gutersloh and Edinburgh to form several garage punk bands including The Fact, The Captain Trips and The Helicopter Spies. He was heavily involved in the burgeoning music scene in Central Scotland which included Meat Whiplash, Jesse Garon and The Desperadoes, and the Shop Assistants. At the end of the decade he switched from rhythm guitar to bass to join the Mutiny Strings, and played briefly with Cocteau Twins spinoff, Lowlife. During this time Ian also wrote and performed poetry at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at various gigs in Scotland supporting, amongst others, Attilla the Hun, The Television Personalities and The Green Telescope. Ian continues to write poetry and has had several pieces published. | ||

Beautiful Day originally is the B-side from the first single that was published on RADIOPULPO-RECORDS. Instruments were recorded by Andreas Calvente and mastered by Günter Neuhaus at Overdrive Studio/ Minden in summer 1998. Jan Beigel added his lyrics and vocals on basis of a mp3 download and finally made it a „real“ song in early 2009. Beautiful Day ist im Original die B-Seite der ersten Single, die unter dem Label RADIOPULPO-RECORDS veröffentlicht wurde. Das Stück wurde von Andreas Calvente im Sommer 1998 im Overdrive Studio/Minden aufgenommen und von Günter Neuhaus gemastert. Jan Beigel fügte, auf der Basis eines mp3-downloads, seinen Text und seine Stimme hinzu und machte das Stück im Jahr 2009 schließlich zu einem „richtigen“ Song. |

| Drifting Heart wurde während eines Live-Konzerts am 14.01.2004 im Gleis 22/Münster von Holger Behr aufgenommen im selben Jahr auf dem TEDDY CONETTI Album „Got rockin‘ on my mind“ von Tonfoncszky-Club-Records veröffentlicht. Der zeitlose Chuck Berry-Klassiker von 1956 erhält durch TEDDY CONETTIS Interpretation eine ganz persönliche Note und steht dem Original um nichts nach. Heute, nach einigen Umbesetzungen, kann man die Combo als TEDDY CONETTI TRIO live erleben und sich selbst von ihrer Virtuosität überzeugen lassen. Zweifellos ist dies eines der beeindruckendsten Stücke auf dieser Scheibe und ein gebührender Abschluss für das vorliegende Compilation Album. | ||
